Have you always dreamed of being a part of the editorial process?
You asked for it and now its about to happen!
This workshop is a must for any Photographer, model, makeup artist, hairdresser or stylist keen to explore the editorial world. This is an amazing course designed to teach you all the creative process of each individual involved in editorial photography! The creative team from Icon studios will show you and teach you fortnightly the necessary steps to creating amazing images.
This process starts with each and every industry above, for example a model needs to know how to work in a team, correct posing techniques, how to work with lighting as well as how to present herself for castings, this includes wardrobe, makeup and hair.
Photographers need to know how to make a model feel at ease so she can perform for the camera, give direction in posing, correct lighting uses for the image in mind, they must also know how to liaise with hair and makeup artist and stylist in order to achieve the final result.
The hair, make up and styling team need to understand the concept of the shoot in order to create the necessary look. For example, hair; make up and clothing can all photograph very differently dependant on the lighting used. Very often what looks great in person is very bland in a photograph!
We begin our workshops with a concept for a collection-story boarding, we look at our models and design the right hair, make up and wardrobe and take you all through this process showing how and why decisions are made, we look at the budget, lighting, scheduling, editing and composition. We explain release forms and their place for each of you.
Finally as a group you will all work together as a team along with the Icon studios team and each play your own significant role in your industry and be a part of an amazing editorial process.
By the end of this work shop each industry will be confident in not only understanding their own role in their chosen career, but understanding how the team around them works. This knowledge is valuable to each individual as it prepares you for the environment of editorial photography, you will understand the key players necessary and how to choose them, you will understand how to work with or as a model with correct posing, attitude and presentation. But most of all you will have an amazing time!

Price: $80 per class (6 classes in total – $480) may be paid fortnightly $400 if paid in full by 1st October 2012 Icon studios accepts creit card,bank transfer or cash payments

Attention to all photographers, models, hairdressers, make- up artists and stylists.
Send us your best idea for your ideal editorial photo shoot for your chance to make it a reality. You must do this via video footage. Then tell us why you would like to win this experience.
You must include all essentials in your story such as examples of the clothing, hair style, makeup, background, lighting example, mood etc. as well as your theme or inspiration. You can do this by using inspirational images and explaining your choices and story idea as you go.
The story board video we find most creative and appealing will win an editorial photo shoot with the Icon studios creative team.
If you are a photographer, make-up artist , hairdresser or stylist , this prize is a one on one experience with Peter Trainer and his creative team to create your dream image from the start right through to the editing of your best image from the day.
If you are a model this opportunity would mean you would be the star of your own self inspired editorial photo shoot.
